Kansas City Community Farm

The Kansas City Community Farm was a 1.5-acre, diversified organic vegetable farm operated by the Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture (later renamed Cultivate Kansas City) in the Argentine neighborhood of Kansas City, KS. I co-managed the farm’s production and infrastructure development (esp. in the area of high tunnels) while also sharing in the everyday farm duties.

A regular showcase for innovative production and marketing techniques, the Kansas City Community Farm demonstrated the economic viability (some years we grossed more than than 100 K in annual sales!) and potential of urban farming to the wider community of regional growers and policy makers.
